• Internal Audit Week Proclaimed - May 14th thru 18th has been proclaimed Internal Audit Week in the State of Texas!  Download a copy of the Governor's Proclamation by clicking here.  The City of Austin has also proclaimed that week as Internal Audit Week in Austin.

• 2012 Southern Regional Conference Speakers are set - Click here to download the conference brochure, which includes information on registration, speakers, schedule, etc. Don't forget the early bird registration deadline is July 31, 2012.  Conference dates are September 16-19, 2012.

Final Event of the Year

Registration is open for the Chapter’s final event of the year, so make plans to join us May 15th for a great seminar.   In honor of Internal Audit week this full day seminar has a reduced price of $100.00.   So sign up now and take advantage of this great price along with obtaining some terrific training.  Please visit the training and events tab for more information about this exciting seminar. 

International Conference

Interested in attending the IIA's International Conference in Boston in July? This year there are 11 educational tracks: CAEs and Audit Management; Financial Services Auditing; Emerging Global Issue; Anti-fraud and Ethics; Small Audit Shops; Information Technology; GRC; Tools and Techniques; Professional Development; Public Sector and Non-profit; and CIA Exam Review.

The program offers up to 18 CPE hrs, but attendees can earn even more credits by attending a pre-conference session on Sunday. Please use the following link to obtain additional information and to register http://www.iia2012ic.org/

CAP Reporting Update

As of February, our chapter has earned 1119 CAP Points. In order to reach Gold status and maintain our Platinum status, we have many more points to achieve. If you want to know how you can help the chapter receive CAP points please contact me.

Request for Information on Speaking Engagements

If you have participated in any unpaid speaking engagements from June 1, 2011 forward, the Chapter can claim Chapter Achievement Program (CAP) points for your efforts in giving back to the profession. Please provide the following information to darrell.carter@tdi.state.tx.us and robert.elizondo@austintexas.gov:

• The topic of the presentation
• Who you presented the topic to
• The length of the presentation
• Copies of any materials, such as handouts or PowerPoint presentations

Annual IIA Golf Outing

It’s time for the Austin Chapter’s annual golf outing, and this year we are happy to be co-sponsoring the event with the local ISACA chapter.  This year’s event will be held on Friday May 18^th the deadline to sign up is May 9th. IMPORTANT INFO ON REGISTRATION PROFILES

Multiple profiles with the same e-mail address have created a problem for our registration system.

SO, we have just gone through a "clean up" of the profile database and kept only the last profile created for each person.

Unfortunately, you may need to reset your password in order for your registration profiles to work.

There is a "forgot password" link just below the registration login - 

you must enter your e-mail address in order to receive an e-mail with a link to go through the reset password process.

If you do not receive the e-mail with the link, please ask for help an e-mail by clicking here instead of creating another profile.

As you may remember, we added the ability to update profile information when you register for a Chapter event.  

However, it is a two step process.  

1) After you have logged-in to register for an event, if you change info on your registration info page, 

it will only be active for the event that you are registering for.

2) if you want to permanently change information on your profile, 

you must use the "edit your profile" option prior to registering for the event.  

Once you see the "your profile has been updated" message after making the changes, 

you can then register for an event (without having to log-out and re-login).
